OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am UK based, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, for context.

What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an ew return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — type in your stake, the odds and it shows returns with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s here how many horses in a lucky 15 — free, no signup.

One thing that really made a difference is the nerdier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.

Not all sunshine though. The interface looks a bit basic — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable but the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.

A piece that read as the work of someone who reads carefully themselves, and a look at realherschel continued that informed feel, writers who are also serious readers produce work with a different quality and this site reads as the product of someone steeped in good writing rather than just generating content for an audience.

OK — have been messing about with this thing for maybe four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.

How I found it was honestly pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get profit and total return straight away, either odds format. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here odds probability calculator — free, no signup.

One thing that really made a difference was the more serious tools. The implied probability calculator which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is decent if I’m spreading across selections.

Not all sunshine though. The design looks very functional, let’s say — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s fine though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sensible take on this topic without the usual marketing nonsense, and a look at zexarobonding kept that grounded approach going, sites that stay focused on serving readers rather than monetising every click are rare and this is clearly one of those rare ones I really appreciate finding.

Found this useful, the points line up well with what I have been thinking about lately, and a stop at xanerobond added some angles I had not considered yet, definitely walking away with more than I came for which is the best outcome from time spent reading online for any kind of topic.

Cuts through the usual marketing fluff that dominates this topic online, and a stop at kruisefest kept the same clean approach going, this is the kind of writing that respects the reader’s time rather than wasting it on repetitive setups before finally getting to the point at hand which is what most sites do.
