Looking at this objectively the editorial quality is hard to deny even setting aside personal taste, and a stop at zylavocapital maintained the same objective quality, the gap between what I personally enjoy and what is objectively well crafted exists and this site clears both bars simultaneously which is rarer than it sounds.

Looking through other posts here the consistency is what makes the site valuable rather than any single piece, and a stop at ThirtyMale extended that consistency observation, sites whose value lies in the ongoing pattern rather than in standout posts are sites I trust more deeply and this one has clearly built that kind of trust.

OK — have been messing about with this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — type in the price and your stake and you get returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it lives at what is a trixie bet? and it’s free with no account nonsense.

One thing that genuinely made a difference were the nerdier extras. The probability calculator that shows the overround, and there’s the kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too for when I’m spreading across selections.

Not all sunshine though. Its interface is a bit basic — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sensible take on this topic without the usual marketing nonsense, and a look at banehmagic kept that grounded approach going, sites that stay focused on serving readers rather than monetising every click are rare and this is clearly one of those rare ones I really appreciate finding.

A piece that took its time without dragging, and a look at OldSchoolOpen kept the same patient pace, the difference between unhurried and slow is a fine editorial distinction and this site has clearly found the unhurried side without slipping into the slow side which would have lost me as a reader quickly otherwise.

Really appreciate the confidence to make a clear point rather than hedging everything, and a quick visit to navirobond maintained the same direct stance, writing that takes positions rather than equivocating is more useful even when the positions are debatable because at least the reader has something to react to clearly.

So — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.

What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an e/w return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator is the one I open most — type in your stake, the odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at each way yankee calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

The thing that genuinely changed how I bet was the geekier bits. There’s an implied probability converter which shows you what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m spreading across selections.

It’s not perfect mind. The layout looks pretty plain — not much polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s usable though the bigger tables are a squeeze. There’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.

OK — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I never could figure out what an e/w payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I used to just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return straight away, either odds format. It also handles the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at single bet return calculator — free, no signup.

The thing that genuinely shifted things for me is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit for when I’m splitting a race.

It’s not perfect mind. Its interface looks a bit basic — no polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.

Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
