Right — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. Am UK based, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.

What got me on it was genuinely a bit daft — I could never work out what an e/w payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in stake and odds and it spits out returns straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s here implied odds calculator — free, no signup.

The thing that actually made a difference were the more serious tools. The probability thing and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is decent for when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. The layout looks very functional, let’s say — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

Worth every minute of the time spent reading, and a stop at feb-en extends that value across more pages, in a media environment where most content is engineered to waste attention this site stands out by treating reader time as something valuable rather than something to be exploited and stretched as far as possible.

Found the rhythm of the prose particularly enjoyable on this read through, and a look at kazhanmaster kept that musical quality going across the related pages, sentence rhythm is something most blog writers ignore but it makes a real difference in how content lands with the careful reader who cares.

OK — been using this thing for something like five months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.

What got me on it was genuinely embarrassing — I could never figure out what an e/w return would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. Now type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in the price and your stake and you get returns instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it lives at ew calculator — free, no signup.

The thing that really made a difference were the nerdier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability thing that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too if I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its interface feels pretty plain — zero flash, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable though the bigger tables are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.

So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, try it — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

Probably worth setting aside a longer block to read more carefully than I can right now, and a stop at OldSchoolOpen confirmed the longer block plan, the impulse to schedule dedicated time for a sites archive is itself a measure of trust and this site has earned that scheduling impulse from me clearly today actually.

However casually I came to this site I have ended up reading carefully, and a look at ThirtyMale continued earning that careful reading, the conversion from casual visitor to careful reader is something content earns rather than demands and this site has accomplished that conversion for me over the course of just a few pieces.

Bookmark added in three places to make sure I do not lose the link, and a look at xelariounion got the same redundant treatment, sites I am afraid to lose are the rare keepers and this is clearly one of them based on what I have read so far across this and a couple of related posts.

Solid recommendation from me to anyone working in the area, the perspective here is grounded, and a look at nolarobond adds even more useful angles, the kind of site that becomes a reference rather than just a one time read which is a higher bar than most blogs ever reach today on the modern web.
